DELIVERING the BOUNTY COLLECTED on COMMUNITY FOOD DONATION DAY
What a wonderful response to this past Saturday's call for nonperishable food, cleaning supplies, paper products and other needed items to stock local food cupboards - Manna on Main Street, Inter-Faith Housing Alliance, and Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard - all of which are being hit considerably hard due to the pandemic and high unemployment situation we are currently facing.
Five churches in the North Wales/Gwynedd community - Gwynedd Friends, Sanctuary United Methodist, St. Peter's Lutheran, St. Rose of Lima, Church of the Messiah - joined together to help alleviate this difficult situation by hosting Community Food Donation Days over the weekend. All sites reported a great response from their congregation and community. A conservative estimate puts the ingathering at over 900+ bags of groceries collected! A huge boost to our local food community cupboards!
A HUGE THANK YOU TO:
everyone who contributed food and other needed items;
the YOM (Youth of Messiah) volunteers who received your donations at the Parish Hall doors, and then sorted the donations;
Dave Reichley, Cheryl Berry, and the parent volunteers who assisted with the event.
Messiah's collection will be delivered to the Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard located in Ambler.
Once again, THANK YOU to everyone who participated and made this important outreach project so successful!!!!
