Church School Lesson for Home: Super Bowl Fun
Dear friends in Christ- Here is our lesson from Sunday, February 7 in case you were not able to join us on Google Meets. Children will need their Church School journals.
New and Goods: Take turns sharing a highlight from the previous week. We talked about what team we were rooting for(if any, haha). Now that the super bowl has passed, you can talk about the moments you liked the best.
Thank you for bringing us together today. Help us to open our hearts to your words and to love others the way you have loved us.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen
Activity #1: Last week we learned about The Lord's Prayer. It is a prayer that Jesus taught us to pray, and it is a great prayer that we can pray every day! But we can also talk to God about ANYTHING at ANYTIME! He wants us to confide in him!! Below is a template that can help children start prayers of their own. Have children copy the following template into their church school journals so they can reference it anytime. You can talk about what words you can choose to fill in the blanks and then pray together.
I’m so thankful that you gave me_____________________.
I’m so thankful that you helped me with ________________today.
I love you God because you _____________________.
Please help me tomorrow as I __________________________.
Please watch over____________________.
We played our own football game! You can click on the link below to access the Google Doc. You will probably have to use a gmail account to access. If you're playing along with your child, you can each choose a color football and begin before the 50 yard line. Then use the link to the wheel spinner. Take turns spinning the wheel and answering the questions. You will both get some of the questions twice, and it's OK! There are multiple ways to answer! Then move the number of yards that go with your question. Whoever gets to the end zone first wins the game! BUT we are ALL winners when we follow Jesus!!!
Who art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy Name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those Who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
And the power, And the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen.
Have a Blessed Week!!
