Dale Murphy shared that this recipe was a big hit with her family at one of their weekend get togethers! They are not difficult to make. And they are so delicious!
2 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups all purpose flour
6 Skor or Heath bars, chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9”x13” with foil and spray with cooking spray. Cream brown sugar and butter in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until comb. Add baking powder, salt and flour and then mix. Stir in 1/2 cup of the chopped candy bars (2 candy bars). Press into the prepared pan. Press remaining chopped candy bars evenly on top of dough. Bake for 24 - 26 minutes. Be careful not to overcook - the center will still be jiggly when you take these out of the oven. They will finish cooking and firming up as they cool. Cool completely before cutting up into squares.
And an idea for the photographers out there.....
Take a stroll outside. Look for branch formations, rock formations or other natural formations of alphabet letters. Photograph the “letters”. Then arrange the photos into words, names or sayings and frame them. So attractive and such a lovely gift.
