Harmony Hearts Production at Messiah

This spring, audiences of all ages are invited to embark on a delightful, larger-than-life adventure with Really Rosie, the charming musical inspired by beloved author and illustrator Maurice Sendak’s beloved characters and brought to life with the irresistible music of Grammy-winning pop icon Carole King.
Really Rosie takes us inside the whimsical “Humble Neighborhood” of a spirited 10-year-old with big dreams and an even bigger imagination. Rosie’s grand ambition? To direct her very own autobiographical movie! But first, she must hold "screen-tests" for her neighborhood friends, which turn into magical make-believe fantasies. Along the way, the group will serenade us with playful tunes like “Chicken Soup with Rice,” a vampire “Coming Attractions”, an alphabet song with dancing alligators and entertaining elephants, and boy who counts the visitors who come to call. But the highlight of the show comes from Pierre, a cynical boy who believes in one simple motto: “I don’t care.” His world turns upside down when a lion offers him a very different perspective—by asking if he’d like to be eaten! How will he answer?
This captivating production is a celebration of childhood creativity, friendship, and the boundless energy of imagination. Get ready for a heartwarming experience that reminds children of ages of the magic that happens when we let our imaginations soar.
