A Message for Teens and Families

Dear Families, I hope this email finds you all well. As we wrap up the school year we would typically celebrating the end of finals, talking about summer vacations, plans for working or excitement about our teens beginning their first job. Right now we would also be making preparations to depart on our annual Mission Trip. If you are a parent you can either read through this lesson with your teen or share it with them. Either way, I would encourage you to connect with your teen to reflect on our lesson together. If you do not have a teen in YOM, please feel free to follow along with us and share in our lesson. The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus “And who is my neighbor?”

Included in today's update: A Message from Father Keith and the Liturgy for Tomorrow's Worship FROM THE RECTOR Saturday, 13 June 2020 Dear Friends: With all that is going on around us and the many disruptions we have all been dealing with, I thought a good message wrapped in a bit of levity might be just what everyone needs about now. There is a story of a visiting pastor who attended a men's breakfast in the middle of a rural farming area of the country. The group had asked an old...er farmer decked out in coveralls to say grace for the morning breakfast. "Lord, I h

We Have Some Work Ahead of Us

Hi Everyone, I wanted to send out the next passage from our summer reading: But I can't just send out the video without acknowledging the events of the past couple of weeks. My mind and my heart have been reeling as I have tried to process everything. Feeling helpless...feeling guilty for not doing enough...feeling sad...feeling angry...not knowing what to say... One thing I know is that as Christians, we have some work ahead of us. In our second reading from "Notes from Jesus," Jesus says, "I want you to know...I like hearing you say YOU love ME." This reading actually falls on the perfect Sunday. As father Keith explains in his sermon on Trinity Sunday, loving our neighbor is part of lo

Rector's Message: Saturday 6 June 2020 PREPARING FOR TRINITY SUNDAY WORSHIP

In today's update: A Message from Father Keith and the Liturgy for Tomorrow's Worship. FROM THE RECTOR Eve of Trinity Sunday Saturday, 6 June 2020 Dear Friends: In light of the current events in our country, words fail me this week . . . But I think I finally understand what is meant by this passage from Romans 8:25-26: The Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. In the name of our Savior Jesus Christ, and our God who wants only health and wholeness

DELIVERING the BOUNTY COLLECTED on COMMUNITY FOOD DONATION DAY

What a wonderful response to this past Saturday's call for nonperishable food, cleaning supplies, paper products and other needed items to stock local food cupboards - Manna on Main Street, Inter-Faith Housing Alliance, and Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard - all of which are being hit considerably hard due to the pandemic and high unemployment situation we are currently facing. Five churches in the North Wales/Gwynedd community - Gwynedd Friends, Sanctuary United Methodist, St. Peter's Lutheran, St. Rose of Lima, Church of the Messiah - joined together to help alleviate this difficult situation by hosting Community Food Donation Days over the weekend. All sites reported a great response fr
